Project scope & Signing
Once we have an idea of how you want your home to look, our team will create a clear plan outlining what our process will be to work towards that goal. This process will be shared with you and you will be working together with us to make sure our plan fits your needs.
Design & Build
When we reach the ideal blueprint and you are happy with the outcome, we will prepare a detailed contract for you which will also outline a commencement date. As soon as we receive a signature and deposit from you, we can start building your dream project.

It depends on scope. Whole-home renovations and extensions typically run 6 to 12 months from the start of construction, and structural or heritage work can extend beyond that. Single-room renovations are usually 4 to 8 weeks. Timelines shift with council approvals, structural complexity and the lead time on custom materials. We provide a clear project schedule before we begin.
What is your renovation process?
We begin with an in-depth consultation to understand your brief, site and budget. From there we move into design development and detailed quoting, including any town planning or building permits your project requires. Once approved, we manage construction end to end — structural works, all trades, and coordination with your architect or designer if you have one — through to final handover.
Do you work with architects and designers?
Yes, regularly. We work alongside your architect or interior designer from early planning through to handover, and we're happy to be involved at design stage to advise on buildability, structural implications and cost before drawings are finalised — which often saves significant time and money later. If you don't have a designer yet, we can recommend practices we've worked with across Melbourne.
Do you handle town planning and building permits?
Yes. Most extensions, structural alterations and works to period properties require a building permit, and many also need town planning approval — particularly in heritage overlay areas. We manage the permit process on your behalf, coordinating with the relevant council, building surveyor and any consultants your project requires. We'll tell you at the outset which approvals your project needs and how they affect the timeline.
Can we live in the house during the renovation?
It depends on the scope. For extensions and additions where work is largely confined to one area, staying put is often possible and we'll stage the works to keep essential rooms usable. For whole-home renovations involving structural work, re-roofing or services replacement, most clients move out for at least part of the build. We'll be upfront about this early so you can plan accommodation, and we'll work to keep any period out of the house as short as practical.
